Dr. Ashley Lytle is an Associate Professor of Psychology at Stevens Institute of Technology. Her research explores the causes and consequences of ageism as well as the importance of fostering intergenerational relationships. She investigates the psychological mechanisms underlying age-based prejudice and discrimination and explores how to reduce age related bias.
A central line of her work involves developing and evaluating educational and contact-based interventions to reduce ageism. This includes innovative, scalable interventions such as brief multimedia tools and semester-long intergenerational programs. Across all of her work, she is committed to advancing scholarship that not only our deepens theoretical understanding of ageism, but also creates tangible pathways for fostering inclusion, engagement, and well-being across generations.
